Lard is a traditional cooking fat prized for its rich flavor, versatility, and nourishing fat profile. FOND’s slow-rendered leaf lard is made from pastured pork sourced from White Oak Pastures and packaged in our signature glass jars.

Rich in monounsaturated fats and naturally low in polyunsaturated fats, our lard is ideal for sautéing, frying, roasting, and baking thanks to its high smoke point and exceptional flavor.

How To Use

Use pork lard anywhere you would use cooking oil or butter. Its high smoke point makes it ideal for frying, roasting, and sautéing, while its rich texture creates exceptionally flaky pie crusts, biscuits, and pastries.

Unopened lard is shelf-stable for 2 years from the date of manufacture. After opening, store on the counter for up to 6 months, or in the fridge, where it will last 12-18 months.

Pork lard is rendered pork fat that has been slowly melted and filtered. The highest-quality lard, known as leaf lard, comes from the fat surrounding the pig’s kidneys and abdomen and has a mild flavor and creamy texture. FOND uses regenerative leaf lard from pasture-raised pork from our friends at White Oak Pastures.

Pork lard contains monounsaturated fats, naturally occurring omega-3 fatty acids, and vitamin D. When sourced from pastured pigs, it is a nutrient-rich cooking fat that fits into a balanced diet.
